In the lifestyle we talk a lot about labels. The general consensus from the real intellectual kinksters is that labesl are bad. Just be who you are and fuck labels.
Well I'm an organizer. I love labels. I love knowing where things fit and how to better understand people.
I use Yahoo IM a lot. I have a Blackberry and a busy life and often Yahoo IM is the best way to reach me because I'm usually logged in through my Berry.
On my Yahoo IM, I have created groups to categorize my contacts. Inadvertently this categorization has come to be reflective of how important someone is to me.
Here are how I label boys:
Boys 1 - My current subs and subs I'm considering. This is always a very short list. Probably shorter now that ever.
Boys 2 - Male submissives I speak with regularly and enjoy their friendship as well as subs I'm getting to know for possible consideration.
BFFs - My best friends that I speak with regularly. Two former subs who no longer submit to me but who I still adore can be be found here along with my closest girl friends.
Friends - Vanilla friends, male and female.
Fun Friends - Kinky friends, female and male.
Guys - Vanilla guys like my FMT that I see or have dated before. They still interest me and have not yet been banished to my Friends or Other Boys group. This is also a very very short list since I no longer try to date vanilla guy.
Other Boys - The group you don't want to be in if you're a guy. If you've been banished to this group, you've either irritated me or bored me.
Blocked - If you're here, you've creeped me out or I'm so done with you I don't even want to endure the possibility of a casual hello popping up in Yahoo.
Last week I tweeted about my categorization method. This prompted two submissive males to ask the dreaded question: What group am I in?
In both instances they were in Boys Other. Both had JUST recently been demoted there. One is my former pet. One is a hot but married sub who lives in Florida. I enjoy talking to them both but I won't play with either of them online.
Both were unhappy to hear they had been banished to Boys Other. The moral of the story is if you aren't sure what category you fall into, you probably don't want to know. ;)
Typically a prospective sub will be labeled as Boys 2 until he's either promoted to Boys 1 or demoted to Other Boys.
When I promote a prospective to Boys 1, I sometimes feel like I should congratulate them. It's a happy occasion that fills me with hope even though it's something too silly for me to share with them.
I try not to look at the number of boys exiled into the Other Boys group, try not to ever even expand the group to look inside it. I get depressed seeing the sheer number of attempts I've made at finding the right submissive guy. Ugh. However, moving them there is usually a cathartic event for me. To me it's a lot like going through your closet and donating things to charity that you don't wear often or that don't fit you just right. It feels good to see your closet look less full and feels good to give things away.
Wow did I just compare subs with old clothes? And write a whole blog about my Yahoo IM groups?
Seriously, I've got to get some more boys into Boys 1 and play with them so I have better more blog worthy material!
